Walton Parish Nursing
Self-care and receiving advice on the many aspects of health is so important but it may not always be easy to know who to turn to first. Walton Parish Nursing is passionate about health promotion and disease prevention. As registered healthcare professionals, we are here to offer you free advice, signpost you to other providers and liaise with the NHS for you.
We run drop-in clinics that are accessible for everyone, no appointment is necessary and not just for those in the Walton area. We are at the Community Hub in Wadgate Road, on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, 11am to 12noon during the Pop-Up Shop and every Thursday 10.30am to 12.30pm. We also have a monthly health clinic at Collimer Court sheltered housing.
Our focus is not only on physical health but on every aspect of wellbeing including emotional, spiritual and mental health including dementia support.
We run a mental health support group called No Labels on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Seaton Road Methodist Church, 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Refreshments, board games, table tennis, magazines and crafts are all provided for free. Everyone is welcome. We took our mental health support group and physical disability group sailing for the fifth time in June.
We are looking for new volunteers to work with us to provide more support for our clients. No medical background is needed, training and supervision will be given. You may like to help at No Labels, visit the housebound, help at the chair-based exercise classes, provide transport to medical appointments or help us fundraise for the charity.
Please feel free to contact either Lorna on 076969 01001 or John on 07909 888703 or email us at contactus@waltonpn.org.uk <mailto:contactus@waltonpn.org.uk>
